Please join us in September and October for the key topic forums. The forum topics include Agriculture & Natural Resources, Economic Development, Land Use & Growth Management, and Transportation. Each forum will include brief presentations from subject matter experts followed by a panel discussion with the audience.

- September 29 - Economic Development Forum begins at 6:30 pm at the Lancaster County Administration Building, 101 N Main Street, Lancaster, SC 29720
- October 13 - Land Use & Growth Management Forum begins at 6:30 pm at the USC-Lancaster Bundy Auditorium, 476 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720
- October 27 - Transportation Forum begins at 6:30 pm at the CrossRidge Conference & Event Center, 2001 Parkway Drive, Indian Land, SC 29707
In recent years, Lancaster County has consistently experienced significant growth in jobs, housing, and population making it one of the fastest growing counties in the region and the United States. The Lancaster 2040 Comprehensive Plan process will provide a long-range strategic vision and direction to guide how the county grows and develops over the next 10 to 20 years.
Specifically, the Lancaster 2040 planning process will focus on developing recommendations for the distinct geographic regions of the county: the Panhandle, Greater Lancaster, Southern Lancaster, and the county as a whole (see the Planning Areas map). Each area will consider the ten specific planning elements required by the State of South Carolina's Comprehensive Planning Enabling Act: population, economic development, natural resources, cultural resources, community facilities, housing, land use, transportation, priority investments, and resiliency.
